Looking back at 2024

The Thursday Book Group has been running since the formation of the
Bramhall U3A. We meet on the fourth Thursday of every month to
discuss a book that we’ve selected from the vast range available from the
Stockport Library Service. Over the years we have tackled a wide range of
books, ranging from Mrs Gaskell’s ‘Mary Barton’ to James Baldwin’s ‘If Beale Street Could Talk.’ One favourite author is William Boyd.
We take turns to meet in a member’s home where we discuss the current book and have a natter about things that interest us. We are quite happy to stop reading our book if it’s not to our taste – it’s called the page 33 test!
