The Bramhall U3A supports two local charities, St Ann’s Hospice and The Wellspring, which is a drop-in centre for the homeless and needy of Stockport. They provide cooked food, washing facilities and a range of support services at their centre on Harvey Street.

There are various ways in which we support these institutions.

We collect and sell books, in good condition, at every monthly meeting.

Groups such as Knitting and Card-making raise money by the sale of their products.

To support The Wellspring, members are asked to donate non-perishable tinned and/or packeted food and basic toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes etc. Clothing in good condition is also collected at meetings. These are taken directly to The Wellspring and have been accepted most gratefully, as they depend on such donations to provide their service.
