Since this group started up we have looked at topics such as Celtic Civilization, the History of Scotland and the History of Ireland.
Report December 2011
The group meets fortnightly 10am-12 noon on Thursdays at a member’s house. We meet to share our interests in past civilizations and cultures. Our discussions also help us to understand present day political concerns and developments. We have a membership of 7 at present, most of whom have been together since Bramhall U3A was formed. Since our inception, the following topics have formed the basis of our discussions - Celtic Civilization, The History of Scotland and The History of Ireland. The History of USA is our current topic, which is due to finish at the end of the year. Topics are chosen by the group and we have yet to choose a topic for 2012. One or more history books are chosen for each topic to form the basis of our discussions.
