Report December 2011

The French Group meet every two weeks on Monday afternoons 2.pm-3.30pm. We meet in members’ homes, since there are about 10 people and are very lucky to have a retired French teacher as our tutor, who teaches grammar and vocabulary with the aid of our current textbook “Voila”, newspaper cuttings, magazines, supermarket and tourist leaflets etc. Most members have studied French before, usually at school but are rather rusty, however, we all have an interest in brushing up our skills either to use French on holiday or because of family connections in France. The group are now looking for a slightly more advanced text book and are hoping to improve conversational skills. Unfortunately, the existing group is not well suited to a complete beginner and we are always on the lookout for someone who could take a Beginner’s Group.
