Report December 2011
This year saw us move to giving tutorial sessions at Queensgate Primary School using their excellent facilities. We continued with the beginners and intermediate groups until the summer holidays when attendance fell off quite sharply.
After asking the groups how they wished to continue, I developed a series of lessons that would give greater structure to the courses. The first of these, ‘Computing for the terrified’ attracted 16 members, ran for four weeks and seemed popular. As I write this, the second course, email is scheduled to last for two weeks in November.
Two other courses are booked in for next year; both are four weeks duration, one in Word Processing and one in spreadsheets (or may be changed to digital photography).
I am grateful to Michael Lacey, Charlie Barker, Norman Townson and Sue & Bob Preece for their assistance.
