Report December 2011

Our U3A choir is in its second year with our Singing for Fun. We sing because we enjoy it, no previous experience or ability is required. Our leader Adrian Lawson chooses a range of popular songs which we enjoy. We welcomed several new members this year, most without any previous experience. Meetings continue at the United Reform Church, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. In October we attended a U3A Singing day for U3A choirs in the south of the NW Region. Six choirs attended over a hundred people in total and we had a really enjoyable day. As well as group work each choir had prepared a short “performance”. Although the smallest choir we got huge applause and everyone joined us in an encore. It was interesting comparing the different approaches and types of music that others sang. We are looking forward to future events.
