Report December 2011
The group has had three visits to museums and one field trip (to Alderley Edge) as well as two meetings to discuss future projects. We have viewed a small slice of the three DVDs we have as a U3A resource which are available to all members. Our inaugural trip was to the Tutankhamen Exhibition at Trafford Park, followed by a visit to the John Garstang Museum in Liverpool where we were allowed to handle artefacts thousands of years old – yes, we are a hands-on group. We usually meet on the second Friday of each month but try to arrange outings to suit most of the group. The outings are decided by members coming up with ideas and no special knowledge of the subject is required. New members are always welcome.
